Rationale: Many people suffer from injured knees and helping
relieve the pain during recovery would improve their quality of life
Goal: Decrease the pain while going through therapy
Solution 1: better drug delivery system straight to the
muscles – not practical for time frame
Solution 2: combination of improved brace and shock therapy
Solution 3: mobile TENS unit
Solution 4: brace to help relieve stress from different
areas of the knee
Criteria: low cost, non-evasive, mobile, relieves pain, low
weight
Constraint: does not cause discomfort, will not affect
mobility, materials and technology have to be available and affordable,
Week 3
Query: Improvements to the comfort level of combo brace and TENS unit.
Solution 1: Use sheepskin, or faux sheepskin, to increase comfort of brace.
Pros: comfortable and insulating
Cons: possible allergic reactions and could become unsanitary during warm enough weather
Acquisition: possibly purchased from various textile/fabric vendors or cannibalized from sheepskin clothing articles (like boots)
