TENS unit should not be used on patients with the following conditions without consulting a physician first:

• implanted electronic device such as a pacemaker
•  heart disease, epilepsy, cancer 
• pregnant

Electrodes should never be placed in the following locations:

• throat or neck
• head

The device should not be used while:

• driving
• operating machinery
• near water
• sleeping
